2.5d Side Scroller Rusty Rabbit Demo out Now

A side-scrolling platformer is almost always a good time, and with NetEase Games and NITRO PLUS preparing for the launch of the 2.5D Rusty Rabbit this coming April 17, interested players can get a taste of the action with a demo. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and PC.

Written by Gen Urobuchi, creator of famous anime series such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica and PSYCHO-PASS, the demo will offer players an extensive first look at the smash-and-dash gameplay featuring rabbit hero Stamp. Any progress made in the demo will also carry over to the full game when it is released.

A giveaway for the full Rusty Rabbit game is also ongoing via X/Twitter. It is quite straightforward: simply follow the official account and retweet this post between February 20 and 27 for a chance to win.

If you are unfamiliar with the game, Rusty Rabbit follows the main protagonist, Stamp, who is on a journey to uncover the mysteries surrounding the world and search for clues regarding his missing daughter. He is assisted by his mech, which can be further upgraded for more options when it comes to exploration and combat.

And for those with sharp ears, you are not hearing things. Stamp is indeed voiced by Takaya Kuroda, the voice actor best known for bringing the role of Kazuma Kiryu to life from the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series.

Here’s the official description of the game:

Thousands of years after humans left this planet, it was rabbits who inherited it…Stamp, an old and eccentric rabbit living on a planet abandoned by humanity, spends his days piloting his trusty mech affectionately known as “Junkster”, collecting junk throughout the ruins of the frozen world and tinkering with machines.

In a stroke of bad luck, Stamp crashes down into the world’s lower levels. There he finds D-TAM; terminals for storing information. Using D-TAM, he finds info related to his missing daughter and a hidden truth about the world they live in. Thus his journey begins, digging deeper into these ruins to unfold the mysteries surrounding this world.

The demo for Rusty Rabbit is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC.
