Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine Leaks Point to 2026 Release Window

Rumors point to Marvel’s Wolverine launching in 2026, with Venom DLC also in development by Insomniac Games.

As Sony gears up for a stacked first-party slate, fans are already asking what will follow Ghost of Yotei, which lands in October 2025. While we already have Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls in the pipeline, growing attention is turning towards Marvel’s Wolverine, the long-awaited PlayStation 5 exclusive from Insomniac Games.

Reports Point to 2026 Release

According to a report from Mp1st, sources close to development claim the game is still targeting a 2026 release window. The news comes after last year’s damaging Insomniac hack, which exposed an early build and internal documents, fuelling speculation about the project’s progress. Sony has yet to offer an official update, but insiders suggest development remains steady.

Adding fuel to the fire, reports indicate that the team is also quietly working on a standalone Venom DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, despite prior comments that no post-launch content was planned. Rumoured to put players in Venom’s shoes, the expansion could introduce a darker narrative thread and potentially set up crossovers with Wolverine’s storyline in the broader Insomniac Marvel universe.

Antagonists and Story Teasers

As part of this shared universe, the leaks hint that Wolverine may face off against Carnage and Beetle as major antagonists. Meanwhile, Anti-Venom is said to feature, though not as Peter Parker’s counterpart. Instead, a monstrous version closer to Eddie Brock’s comic portrayal could emerge.

Speculation also surrounds the possible debut of Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099), though it remains unclear whether he will appear in the Venom DLC or the oft-rumoured Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.

As with all leaks, fans should treat these claims with caution. Until the studio or Sony officially confirms details, Wolverine’s claws remain sheathed.
