Crisol: Theater of Idols Demo Goes Live on Steam as Nightmare Spain Awaits

Blumhouse Games Releases Free Steam Demo for Crisol: Theater of Idols

During the Six One Indie Showcase, Blumhouse Games and Vermila Studios revealed a surprise free demo for its upcoming first-person horror action game, Crisol: Theater of Idols. Players can download the demo on Steam today, offering an early look at the terrifying world of Tormentosa.

A World of Faith and Fear

Set in a nightmarish reimagining of Hispania, Crisol explores a land fractured by two warring religions. Players step into the role of Gabriel, a soldier sent on a divine mission from the Sun God. To survive the twisted horrors of Tormentosa, Gabriel must use his own blood as ammunition, a mechanic that forces players to weigh survival against sacrifice constantly. Every shot costs health, making combat as much about resource management as it is about firepower.

The island of Tormentosa is a blend of ruined cities, labyrinthine streets, and folklore-inspired terrors. From living statues to cults thriving on blood sacrifice, Crisol promises a world steeped in history and horror.

Cast and Languages

Crisol: Theater of Idols will launch with both English and Spanish voice acting. The English cast features AmaLee (One Piece Film: Red, Honkai: Star Rail) as Mediodía and Luis Bermudez (Call of Duty: Black Ops 6) as Gabriel. In Spanish, Henar Hernández (Big Mouth, Oshi No Ko) voices Mediodía, while Mario García (Resident Evil 4) brings Gabriel to life.

The demo currently includes English voiceover, with Spanish language support set to be added in a later update.

A Glimpse of What’s to Come

Alongside the demo, a new gameplay trailer was released, showcasing previously unseen areas of Tormentosa and teasing a key character central to the story. Blumhouse and developer Vermila Studios emphasise that player feedback from the demo will help shape the final release.

hCrisol: Theater of Idols is slated to launch on PC via Steam, with a full release date yet to be confirmed.
