Kojima Marks 10 Years with New OD Horror Teaser “Knock”
Ten years after Hideo Kojima parted ways with Konami and founded Kojima Productions, the studio remains one of gaming’s most recognisable independent names. To mark its 10th anniversary, Kojima unveiled a brand-new teaser for the studio’s upcoming horror game, OD.
“Knock” — A Cryptic Kojima Teaser
The teaser, titled “Knock”, is classic Kojima: abstract, unsettling, and filled with unanswered questions. Starring Sophia Lillis, the clip shows her character receiving a cryptic card through a door before attempting to light candles on a small altar. As ominous knocks echo from the other side, tension builds until the reveal of a terrifying non-human entity, its enormous hand bursting through the doorway.
Kojima fans will recognise the signature mix of symbolism, suspense, and cinematic flair that has defined his trailers for decades.
Unreal Engine 5 in Action
While the broader narrative of OD remains hidden, the teaser demonstrates Unreal Engine 5’s capabilities. Realistic lighting, detailed facial animations, and atmospheric sound design all amplify the horror tone.
Kojima has also previously hinted at integrating Microsoft’s cloud computing technology into the underlying systems, though no details have been shared about how it will influence gameplay.
No Release Window Yet
Despite the new teaser, the studio has not confirmed a release window. The video closes with the chilling tagline:
“FOR ALL PLAYERS AND SCREAMERS.”
This brief statement encapsulates Kojima’s ambition — OD is not just meant to entertain, but to disturb truly. For now, fans will have to wait for further updates. Still, the combination of Kojima’s track record, the studio’s milestone anniversary, and the unnerving promise of this game ensures it remains one of the most closely watched horror projects in development.
