Code Vein II Release Date and New Trailer Revealed

A Friendlier Souls-like Returns

Bandai Namco has officially confirmed that Code Vein II will launch worldwide on January 30, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The announcement was made during Sony’s State of Play, where a new gameplay trailer showcased the return of the companion-driven Souls-like.

The original Code Vein gained recognition as a more approachable take on the genre, thanks to its companion system, which provided players with a constant ally in battle. That feature not only softened the learning curve but also encouraged strategic experimentation — and it makes a return in the sequel, now with expanded mechanics.

New Threats and New Allies

The sequel introduces the Horrors, a nightmarish enemy force threatening to plunge the world into chaos. Players will once again step into the role of a Revenant Hunter, this time guided by Lou, a mysterious girl tied to the fate of the world. Their journey spans across timelines in an effort to rewrite destiny and prevent an endless nightmare.

As with its predecessor, blood remains central to combat. Players can absorb blood from enemies to unlock abilities, harness unique Jails for strong defensive capabilities and unleash supernatural vampiric attacks that deal massive damage, and build bonds with companions whose trust directly influences skillsets and strategies.

This deeper companion system is designed to enhance replayability and further distinguish Code Vein II in the crowded Souls-like space.

Release Date and Platforms

Code Vein II is set for release on January 30, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. With its expanded companion dynamics and new enemy threats, it aims to deliver both familiarity and evolution for fans of action RPGs.
