Haunting Strategy Game Ghost Keeper Returns with a Brand-New Demo
The supernatural strategy genre is about to get spooky again. Developer Quest Craft has released a brand-new demo for Ghost Keeper on Steam, just in time for Scream Fest 2025.
Described as a modern homage to the cult classic Ghost Master, the game blends mischievous strategy, dark humour, and Victorian gothic charm, and would-be terrifiers can now test it for free.
New Demo Features: Ghosts, Beasts, and Victorian Horrors
The latest demo introduces players to the core haunting experience, featuring three playable locations — William’s House, Phineas’ Manor, and the Cemetery. Players can command three unique ghosts (William, Night Blade, and Phineas) and one monstrous beast, the Shadowmaw, each offering distinct powers and personalities.
In between missions, the demo also opens access to the Hideout, where players can test early upgrade paths for their supernatural minions. The core gameplay loop has been expanded too, adding new skills, Essence balancing mechanics, and early tactical challenges for fans eager to experiment with strategies.

A Wicked Love Letter to Ghost Master
Ghost Keeper casts players as an acolyte commanding a mischievous legion of ghosts, demons, and beasts, all with one shared purpose: to terrorise mortals and thwart the ghost-hunting Brotherhood. Combining tactical management and puzzle-solving, players must deploy the right spectral abilities to instil fear, avoid traps, and turn the living world into a playground of panic.
Set in the grotesquely elegant 19th-century Victorian era, the game promises a blend of humour and horror. Detailed environments, eccentric characters, and a sardonic demonic narrator bring a layer of personality rarely seen in the genre.
Developers Seek Player Feedback
Quest Craft is actively calling for feedback from early players to help shape the final release. Feedback can be shared through Steam, social media, or via the in-game feedback form built directly into the demo.
“Our goal is to recapture that special kind of strategic mischief that made classic haunting games so beloved,” said a spokesperson for Quest Craft. “This demo is just the beginning — we want fans to help us make Ghost Keeper the ultimate scare simulator.”
Fans of Ghost Master, Dungeon Keeper, and Evil Genius will likely find plenty to love in Ghost Keeper, now haunting Steam with its new demo and proving that scaring has never looked this stylish.
