New Stories for Four Legendary Warriors
Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force have announced new details for Dynasty Warriors: Origins, including a major downloadable expansion titled Visions of Four Heroes, launching on January 22, 2026.
The expansion explores new “What If” storylines that focus on four iconic figures whose perspectives were not fully explored in the base game: Zhang Jiao, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, and Lu Bu. Each narrative uncovers alternative histories and motivations, adding emotional depth and moral complexity to these familiar legends.
The DLC will release across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, alongside the debut of the Switch 2 version.
Fresh Faces and Weapons Join the Battlefield
Visions of Four Heroes also introduces new allies, including Zhuhe, a guardian devoted to peace, Diaochan, the beloved warrior returning to the battlefield, and a mysterious new officer who will be revealed as the story unfolds.
Two new weapon types — the Bow and Rope Dart — expand the fast-paced 1-vs-1,000 combat the series is known for. Each brings its own tactical playstyle, adding variety to ranged and close-quarters encounters.
Existing weapons are receiving upgrades as well, including new Arts, expanded Skill Panels, and an increased Trait Level Cap, giving players more options for customisation and mastery.
New Training Ground Mode and Pre-Order Bonuses
The DLC introduces a Training Ground mode where players can test their abilities against challenging foes and experiment with weapon combinations in a safe environment. The mode serves as both a practice arena and a high-level challenge for veterans seeking to refine their techniques.
Players who pre-order Dynasty Warriors: Origins Visions of Four Heroes will receive the Yellow Turban Attire, an exclusive outfit for the protagonist available for a limited time.
Launch Details
With Visions of Four Heroes, Omega Force aims to expand the scope of Dynasty Warriors: Origins with fresh narratives, enhanced combat, and a renewed focus on the personal journeys of its legendary cast.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The upcoming DLC and the new Nintendo Switch 2 version will launch simultaneously on January 22, 2026.
