HONOR Teases Magic8 Pro With Striking Night Photography Samples
The upcoming HONOR Magic8 Pro has made its first public splash ahead of its official launch, as HONOR revealed a series of night photography samples captured using the flagship’s new 200MP Ultra Night Telephoto Camera at an event at the Singapore Oceanarium.
Shot across Kuala Lumpur by mobile photography enthusiasts, the images highlight long-range clarity, colour accuracy in dim lighting, and expressive portraits that retain definition even in complex night scenes. From sweeping skyline shots to detailed views of the Petronas Twin Towers, the samples paint a clear picture of HONOR’s ambitions for its next-generation camera system.
A 200MP Telephoto Built for Low Light
HONOR claims that the Magic8 Pro features the largest 200MP telephoto sensor currently available in a smartphone. It features a 1.4-inch sensor, a wide f/1.6 aperture, and CIPA 5.5-level optical stabilisation, allowing the camera to maintain stability and preserve detail even at high zoom levels.
According to HONOR, the system maintains steady previews and significantly reduces motion blur at zoom levels of 10 times and beyond, with the telephoto capable of reaching a 100 times digital zoom.
The company positions this as a new benchmark for handheld night telephoto capability, enabling users to capture cityscapes, moonlit skies, and long-range scenes with clarity.

Lifelike Night Portraits Powered by AI
Alongside the telephoto system, the Magic8 Pro features a 50MP Ultra Night Main Camera with an f1.6 aperture and optical stabilisation. HONOR added that advanced AI segmentation and lighting control enable the device to produce natural skin tones and smooth bokeh without compromising sharpness.
Even portraits captured at a distance in low light maintain edge accuracy, colour fidelity, and contrast.
The early samples emphasise the Magic8 Pro’s ability to handle complex environments with varied light sources and strong dynamic range. HONOR states that the new system aims to deliver a more lifelike interpretation of night scenes, preserving both atmosphere and fine detail.
Magic8 Pro Launches on November 28
The full reveal of the HONOR Magic8 Pro is scheduled for November 28, where the company is expected to showcase the final design, complete camera specifications, and additional AI-driven features.
