The Seasoning Update Elevates SEDAP! With Maps, New Modes, And Charms
When kopiforge first launched SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure on PC earlier this year, the reception was enthusiastic yet divided. Players loved its Southeast Asian identity and co op chaos, but many found its late-game difficulty abruptly punishing.
Now, the Singapore-based studio is responding directly to that feedback. Version 1.1, dubbed The Seasoning Update, arrives on PC on November 26 and introduces some of the most requested improvements since launch. The update will roll out on console in December, while online multiplayer for consoles is still planned for early 2026.
A Direct Response To Community Concerns
SEDAP!’s PC launch in May brought a wave of criticism, much of it centred on difficulty spikes, confusing map layouts and late game pacing. kopiforge acknowledges this directly in the update notes, describing Version 1.1 as a heartfelt attempt to refine the experience rather than overhaul its identity.
The update introduces new systems, balance changes, and quality-of-life enhancements intended to make the adventure smoother, more readable, and more enjoyable for solo and co-op players alike. It also launches with a temporary 35% discount on Steam, making this an ideal re-entry point for new players.
The New Features That Change Everything
Many of the additions arrive in response to long-standing requests, and together they reshape the moment-to-moment flow of SEDAP!.
The Bestiary
A brand new chapter of the Makanomicon catalogues the creatures that roam Khaya Island. The Bestiary includes fresh illustrations, names and descriptions, turning monster encounters into richer world-building moments.
In-Game Map
One of the biggest frustrations for both new and experienced players was navigating sprawling late-game levels. The new toggleable map provides a clear aerial overview, complete with ingredient spawns and a dynamic respawn timer. It transforms exploration from guesswork into strategy.
Herb Mode And Spice Mode
Difficulty selection arrives at last. Herb Mode is designed for players who prefer a more relaxed experience, with reduced monster health, lower damage taken and slower dish freshness decay. Spice Mode remains the standard difficulty and the only mode that awards Pink Stars for advanced progression. Players can switch modes at the start of a run or through the settings menu.
Balance Improvements
More Teletotems, adjustments to late-game stages, a reduced dish freshness decay rate, and an increased charm weight limit all make the game more forgiving without compromising its core challenge. These changes are significant for solo players, who previously faced a steep difficulty curve.
Four New Charms
The new Jade Earrings, Five Stones, Yadom and Kerosang charms expand build variety, offering effects that slow food decay or grant an initial combo streak. With the charm weight limit increased from five to seven, players can experiment more freely.
Steam Community Items
Trading cards, badges, profile backgrounds and emoticons now accompany the update, expanding the game’s presence in the Steam ecosystem.

A New Season For A Growing Singaporean Studio
As highlighted in a previous interview, kopiforge’s journey from student project to international release has been remarkable. With SEDAP! now available on PC and all major consoles, The Seasoning Update marks the team’s most substantial step toward refining the full experience.
The Seasoning Update feels like a sincere course correction from a young studio eager to learn, improve and continue supporting a game that clearly means a lot to them. Early reviews were harsh, but SEDAP!’s heart meant improvements were always coming. With clearer navigation, adjustable difficulty and expanded systems, this version may be the one that finally brings its full flavour to the table.
SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure Version 1.1 launches on Steam on November 26, with console updates to follow next month.
