OTK Games Expo Reveals Ferocious Release Date and Dino Command Mechanics
tinyBuild and developer OMYOG were on hand at the OTK Games Expo to reveal the release date for Ferocious, the dinosaur-driven survival-action FPS that has steadily built momentum across Steam.
The game will officially launch on December 4, joining the end-of-year slate with more than 400,000 wishlists already signalling strong interest.
The new trailer, which premiered at the event, highlights the danger of the island and the spectacle of its combat encounters, from dense jungle skirmishes to chaotic firefights against heavily armed mercenaries. Ferocious positions players in the centre of an unpredictable landscape where ancient predators, collapsing structures and elite human factions all fight for dominance.
Dino Control Device Takes Centre Stage
The showcase introduced one of the game’s most distinctive tools, the Dino Control Device, which allows players to command a broad range of dinosaurs.
The DCD brings a tactical edge, enabling players to direct these enormous creatures to attack enemy encampments, tear through defences, track scents to uncover hidden paths, and even manipulate the environment by breaking through obstacles or opening routes otherwise inaccessible.
The trailer demonstrates the system’s flexibility in Ferocious, from riding a dinosaur into battle to sending one ahead as a living battering ram. It also teases the possibility of recruiting some of the island’s most dangerous apex predators, suggesting a late-game escalation in both power and spectacle.
Survival, Stealth and Chaos
The game blends traditional FPS combat with survival mechanics, encouraging players to adapt to threats using every tool, weapon and resource available. Pistols, rifles, knives and improvised weapons form the foundation of the arsenal, while crafting allows players to upgrade equipment and tailor their approach to the island’s shifting dangers.
Encounters with mercenaries working for the mysterious Manifesto organisation require patience and situational awareness, but the dinosaurs roaming the island remain the greatest threat. From stealth take-downs to full-scale gunfights, Ferocious gives players the freedom to decide how to survive each encounter.
Ferocious arrives on PC on December 4.
