Nintendo Exclusive Horror Project M Teases a Never-Before-Seen Twist
Bloober Team’s Next Horror Gamble Takes Shape
When discussing modern horror and survival horror games, Bloober Team has become increasingly difficult to ignore. While the Polish studio recently reached new levels of mainstream recognition through its work on the Silent Hill 2 Remake, its reputation has long been built on original IPs such as Cronos: The New Dawn.
Alongside its confirmed collaboration with Konami on the Silent Hill 1 Remake, Bloober is also quietly developing another project that remains shrouded in mystery: Project M.
What sets this project apart immediately is its platform choice. Unlike Bloober’s other releases, this new horror title is being developed exclusively for Nintendo hardware, a rare move for a studio so closely associated with PlayStation and PC audiences.
A Horror Experience Built Specifically for Nintendo
In a recent interview with Nintendo Insider, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno offered early insight into the studio’s ambitions for Project M. While details remain tightly under wraps, Babieno made it clear that the team is aiming for a horror experience that will resonate with fans of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Limbo, and Eternal Darkness.

According to Babieno, the game blends psychological tension, environmental storytelling, and experimental design into a form that feels distinctly different from Bloober’s past work. Rather than adapting an existing formula, the studio is using Nintendo hardware as a creative foundation rather than a technical constraint.
A Genre Defining Twist
Perhaps the most striking claim made by Babieno is that Project M will introduce a twist never before explored in horror games. While he declined to elaborate on what that twist might be, he stressed that it is central to the game’s identity rather than a surface-level gimmick.
Crucially, Babieno stated that this game could not exist without Nintendo’s technology and development support. He strongly implied that the platform’s unique hardware capabilities are essential to the game’s mechanics, suggesting features that go beyond traditional control schemes or presentation.
Despite the bold claims, Bloober Team has not committed to a reveal window or release date for Project M. However, Babieno expressed confidence that the studio will share more information in the near future.
