Granblue Fantasy: Relink Expands With Endless Ragnarok, Adds New Stories, Modes, and Crossplay

Cygames is expanding the scope of its action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink with Endless Ragnarok, a major new release that builds directly on the foundation of the original game. Launching on July 9, Endless Ragnarok arrives on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam as both a continuation and a meaningful evolution rather than a standalone sequel.

Rather than resetting progress, Endless Ragnarok is designed to extend the existing experience. Players who already own Granblue Fantasy: Relink can opt for a paid upgrade that carries over save data on the same platform, while newcomers can jump straight into the expanded version as a complete package. This approach reinforces Cygames’ intent to treat Relink as a long-term action RPG platform rather than a one-and-done release.

New Storylines and Rising Threats in the Sky Realm

The new addition introduces a new narrative arc set after the events of the original Relink campaign. While Astral Lilith’s plans have been thwarted, the Zegagrande Skydom faces fresh dangers as strange beings known as the ragnalia begin to appear. These entities signal the approach of a larger catastrophe, with mysterious gateways opening into unstable realms and powerful figures such as Beelzebub re-entering the conflict.

This new storyline is structured to feed directly into both solo and cooperative play, giving narrative context to newly introduced quests, bosses, and modes. Cygames is clearly looking at Endless Ragnarok as an extension that deepens the world and raises the stakes, rather than simply adding disconnected content for endgame players.

Expanded Combat Systems and Summon Integration

One of the most significant gameplay changes comes through the introduction of summon mechanics that actively reshape combat. Players will be able to equip and call forth powerful summons during battle, with some allowing temporary direct control when channelled through Lyria. Under specific conditions, others trigger dramatic Primal Bursts, a new type of chain burst that adds another layer to party coordination and damage output.

Beyond summons, Endless Ragnarok expands character growth with new master traits designed to push builds beyond previous limits. These additions are aimed squarely at experienced players seeking deeper optimisation and more demanding combat scenarios, while maintaining accessibility through existing assist options.

New Modes, Bosses, and Co-Op Depth

This new content significantly broadens Relink’s endgame structure. New co-op quest tiers and additional bosses are being introduced, alongside a brand-new solo mode called The Conflux. This mode focuses on unpredictable encounters and shifting powers, offering a more experimental challenge compared to traditional quest runs.

All content remains playable both offline and online with up to four players, reinforcing Relink’s co-op identity. Crossplay across all platforms is fully supported, and Nintendo Switch 2 players will also benefit from local wireless multiplayer between systems. These features collectively aim to keep matchmaking healthy and community engagement strong across platforms.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok launches worldwide on July 9. Ahead of launch, Cygames will run a closed beta test focused on crossplay functionality. Participants will be able to try out the newly introduced character, Beatrix, and experience her combat style early. Entry will be via lottery, with applications already open through the official website.
