There is always something to play and look forward to in this day and age, and indie publisher tinyBuild is definitely going to add to your growing lists with its latest tinyBuild Connect 2024 showcase.
A 20-minute stream that contained several announcements, trailers, and reveals, players were treated to a bunch of new stuff and updates to existing games. In addition, tinyBuild debuted one of its biggest Steam publisher sales to date, offering discounts of up to 80% across its legendary portfolio until May 27. If you have missed the show, here’s everything that was revealed:
The King is Watching
A new title, The King is Watching is a kingdom builder where peasants only work under the king’s watchful eye, a playful twist to the genre that promises to add another layer of challenge.
“When we first came up with an idea for The King is Watching, we never expected to reach so many people,” said Semyon Itmaniuk, Head of the Hypnohead Studio. “Having a game jam prototype played more than a million times is no small feat, and we’re excited to partner with tinyBuild to get our game to the finish line and in the hands of even more players.”
The game is slated to release later this year, with a demo now available.
Drill Core
Developer Hungry Couch, creators of Black Skylands, announced their upcoming strategic mining game Drill Core. Dig to the centre of the planet, find rare materials, and defend yourself from alien attack as you build your mining platform base and plan the best way to strike it rich.
With workers to manage, tech to research, and nightly alien attacks, it will take a true leader to make it out alive. You can attempt to do so with the brand-new playtest now available on Steam, ahead of the game’s Q4 Early Access launch.
DUCKSIDE
Following a highly successful beta period earlier this year, which had over 150,000 players sign up to join the flock, a new beta for DUCKSIDE begins on June 6 on Steam. This beta will bring with it new buildings, map locations, blueprints and more timely changes based on community feedback, as the fresh take on the persistent-world survival genre takes shape.
Kingmakers
Together with Redemption Road Games, tinyBuild unveiled the new gameplay trailer for Kingmakers, the epic medieval sandbox game that mixes in modern tech for some crazy killing in the olden days.
As an elite task force operative, you’ll have to save the future in an epic action-strategy sandbox featuring thousands of soldiers at the same time. Build your kingdom, grab your gun(s), and lead your armies into massive, real-time simulated battles — solo or in co-op for up to four players. The game will be released in Early Access later this year.
Not For Broadcast
The multi-award-winning, chaotic television news propaganda sim from developer NotGames is approaching its last episode. The Timeloop DLC will be coming to consoles and PCs later this summer.
Untangle a new story with deviously puzzling new mechanics to end this era with an enticing, satisfying ending. Uncover clues with each repetition to piece together the truth behind the mysteries unfolding in the newsroom. Search for Easter Eggs hidden throughout a jam-packed DLC almost two-thirds the length of the original game, including a 15-minute continuous musical section.
SAND
Debuting the first gameplay trailer for the open-world PvPvE extraction shooter, SAND, indie developers Hologryph and TowerHaus give eager players the first look at the gigantic diesel-punk mechs, action, looting and surprises that await in the vast desert world.
Set in an alternate-history universe, where the Austro-Hungarian Empire led space colonisation in the 19th century, humanity travels the stars, and the fallen planet of Sophie lays in ruins after an ecological disaster evaporated the world’s oceans.
Operate your own massive walking Trampler mech to explore, loot valuables, take down hostile enemies, and escape with your fortune and life. SAND’s combination of high-stakes PvPvE combat and emergent extraction gameplay will keep you on your toes, delivering a thrilling experience that’s accessible but challenging and rewarding as you play. The first playtest will happen in the near future, and interested players can sign up via Steam.
RAWMEN: Food Fighter Arena
