The Spirit Weaver Demo Launches on Steam
GameChanger Studio and StarBullet Studio have officially released the playable demo for The Spirit Weaver as part of Steam Next Fest, running from February 24 to March 3.
The Tarot-driven visual novel represents the first external publishing project for the Indonesian developer, best known for 1998: The Toll Keeper Story and the My Lovely trilogy.
Originally teased during Indonesia Game Day, The Spirit Weaver is the debut title from StarBullet, a team formed by seven graduates from the Bandung Institute of Technology.
A Tarot-Guided Story of Guilt and Grief
The Spirit Weaver places players in the role of Alora, a Tarot reader summoned into the spirit realm to confront a growing supernatural force known as The Entropy.
Blending mystical symbolism with a personal narrative, the game explores themes of childhood guilt, grief, love and unresolved trauma. Tarot readings serve as both a narrative device and a core gameplay mechanic, with player interpretations directly shaping character arcs and determining which ending unfolds.
Progression hinges on empathy and emotional insight, requiring players to respond thoughtfully to spirits caught between worlds.

Multiple Endings and Player-Driven Outcomes
Each Tarot reading influences branching paths, encouraging replayability and varied outcomes. According to the developers, every decision contributes to how Alora’s journey resolves.
StarBullet Studio, led by Kezia Lawrence and supported by a multidisciplinary team, evolved the project from a university assignment into a fully realised narrative experience.
For GameChanger Studio, the release marks a strategic expansion into publishing, supporting emerging Indonesian developers within the regional indie ecosystem.
The free demo for The Spirit Weaver is available on Steam throughout Steam Next Fest, with the full release date yet to be announced. Players can download the demo now and wishlist the game ahead of its eventual launch.
