Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis Marks Next Chapter for Ironhide's Tower Defense Hit

Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis Rewinds the Saga

Tower defence fans, it’s time to celebrate. Ironhide Game Studio has officially unveiled Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis, the next chapter in its long-running tower defence franchise, coming soon to PC via Steam, as well as Android and iOS devices.

With more than 63 million downloads across the series, Kingdom Rush remains one of the genre’s most recognisable names. Genesis looks to be the most ambitious entry yet, sending players back to the very beginning of the Kingdom’s history.

Stop Young Vez’nan Before Darkness Rises

Rather than pushing the timeline forward, Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis explores the origins of the Kingdom. Players will journey to an era when legends were just beginning, with a mission to rewrite history and stop a young Vez’nan before his corruption takes hold.

The campaign revisits the original lands of Linirea, bringing back familiar faces and iconic battlefields while introducing new strategic twists. Across 19 campaign stages, players will face unique stage mechanics, relentless enemy waves, and large-scale boss encounters.

The game spans three distinct landscapes, offering varied tactical challenges as players attempt to alter the past to protect the future.

Expanded Systems and Strategic Depth

Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis builds on the franchise’s classic formula with expanded progression systems and greater customisation. The game features 15 towers with special skills that can be combined to create synergistic strategies. A revamped upgrade system now allows towers, heroes, and spells to level independently, offering more experimentation in each run.

Players can deploy 12 epic heroes, with two heroes selectable per stage, each upgradeable to unlock powerful abilities. In addition, nine spells can be equipped to shift the tide of battle during critical moments.

Genesis also introduces 27 upgradeable characters, more than 40 enemy types across five enemy races, and six colossal boss fights designed to test even veteran defenders.

Modes, Achievements and Series Humour

Beyond the main campaign, additional game modes aim to provide further challenge for experienced players. More than 50 achievements are included, alongside the franchise’s signature lighthearted humour and hidden Easter eggs.

Steam wishlist support is now live, with mobile pre-orders expected closer to launch. A release date has yet to be confirmed. After the commercial success of Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance in 2024, Genesis looks to both honour the series’ roots and expand the tactical possibilities in tower defence, inviting players to defend the past in order to change the future.
