Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Comes to Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom has confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will launch on October 9 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The announcement was featured during the Nintendo Direct, marking the series’ first appearance on Nintendo Switch 2. For the Switch 2 version, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will include both the base game and the new Dark Arisen expansion content.
Players who already own Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam will be able to purchase the Dark Arisen expansion separately.
Norgan Opens a New Northern Adventure
The Dark Arisen expansion sends players to Norgan, a frozen northern region once tied to the kingdom of Vermund. Long abandoned for unknown reasons, the area is now covered in snow and filled with dangerous creatures, savage enemies, and hidden relics.
The new story sees the Arisen joining forces with Eir to uncover the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon. That gives the base game a fresh region to explore, while keeping the series’ focus on discovery, danger, and unpredictable encounters.
Norgan also introduces relics, powerful pieces of gear that can be found across the land or claimed from defeated monsters. These relics can be appraised at the Norgandian Settlement to reveal enhanced offensive and defensive properties.
Lost Rites Adds 12 Dungeon Challenges
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will also introduce Lost Rites, a set of 12 dungeon challenges built around trials created by the Pathfinder. These dungeons house rare equipment once held by past Arisen, giving players another reason to test their builds, sharpen their combat skills, and push deeper into the expansion’s tougher encounters.
The expansion will also add new hairstyles and tattoos for the character creator, giving players more ways to customise their Arisen and Pawns before heading into Norgan.
Title Updates Improve the Base Game

Ahead of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Capcom is rolling out a two-phase update plan for the base game. The first major update is available now, adding the reusable Eternal Ferrystone to make fast travel more accessible. It also includes other quality-of-life changes across movement, menus, Pawns, rewards, shops, and gameplay systems.
A second update is planned for the end of August, bringing improved frame rates, additional save slots, Dragonsplague adjustments, action refinements, and further quality of life updates.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be available in digital and physical editions. Pre-orders and early purchases will include the Norgan Fashion Set: Northern Attire, inspired by the expansion’s frozen setting.
