Tales of Eternia Remastered Brings Inferia And Celestia Back

Bandai Namco has announced Tales of Eternia Remastered as the latest title in the Tales of Remastered Project, bringing the classic action RPG back to modern platforms this October.

The remaster will launch on October 15 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X|S. PC players will be able to pick it up via Steam on October 16.

Reid, Farah, and Meredy Return In A Two-World Adventure

Tales of Eternia Remastered takes players back to Eternia, a world where two realms, Inferia and Celestia, face each other across the sky. The story follows Reid Hershel and his childhood friend Farah Oersted, whose lives in the remote Inferian village of Rasheans change after they encounter a mysterious girl named Meredy.

Unable to communicate with her at first, the group soon learns about the Grand Fall, a catastrophic collision between Inferia and Celestia that threatens both worlds.

To stop the disaster, Reid and his companions set out to harness the power of elemental spirits known as the Greater Craymels. Along the way, the journey forces them to confront not only external dangers but also the different values, cultures, and inner conflicts that shape both realms.

Classic Tales Combat Returns With Modern Features

The remaster retains the game’s Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS), which gives Tales of Eternia its fast 2D action combat. Players will chain Artes, coordinate with party members and fight through real-time battles that helped define the early identity of the Tales of series. Rather than replacing that foundation, Bandai Namco is focusing on making the experience easier to return to today.

New convenience features include the ability to disable destination icons and enemy encounters, as well as a high-speed mode for auto-battles. Players can also switch graphics and sound effects between remastered and original-style modes, allowing returning fans to preserve more of the original atmosphere.

Tales Of Remastered Project Continues

Tales of Eternia Remastered continues Bandai Namco’s ongoing effort to bring older entries in the Tales of series to newer platforms. Tales of Eternia has long been one of the more beloved older entries, especially for fans who prefer the series’ 2D combat roots and more traditional journey structure, and its return gives newer players an easier way to experience a title that has been harder to access on current hardware.

Tales of Eternia Remastered Combat

For longtime fans, the appeal is more direct. Tales of Eternia Remastered is not just another re-release, but a chance to revisit one of the series’ defining adventures with enough modern options to smooth out the experience without losing what made it memorable.

Tales of Eternia Remastered launches on October 15 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X|S, followed by PC via Steam on October 16.
