The footage openly leans into the Soulslike label, with dodges, parries, heavy strikes, and punishing enemy attacks forming the foundation of combat. At the same time, the game is not trying to hide its more cinematic side, with dramatic finishers and supernatural flourishes giving it a different flavour from more restrained entries in the genre.
According to previous details shared by Aeos Games, the project is being built by a team that includes talent with experience on titles such as Ghost of Tsushima, Hogwarts Legacy, and Path of Exile 2. Vikram’s Journey Takes Players Through Vishwapur
In Unleash the Avatar, players take control of Vikram, a protagonist drawn into a conflict involving Vishwapur, divine power, and forces inspired by Indian mythology.
The team describes it as a Soulslike based in India, with Vikram wielding godlike abilities and signature weapons against relentless indigenous foes. Earlier reporting also described the game as taking place in an alternate version of India where the barrier between Naraka and Earth has weakened, allowing demonic forces to spill into the world.
That cultural foundation remains one of the game’s most distinctive elements. Rather than simply applying familiar mechanics to a familiar dark fantasy template, Unleash the Avatar appears to be drawing from Indian epics, supernatural imagery, and regional architecture to build a setting that stands apart.
Garuda Powers Expand the Combat Loop
The latest footage also places more emphasis on Vikram’s supernatural abilities. Alongside melee attacks and traditional movement, players can use powers tied to Garuda, giving combat a more expressive and spectacle-heavy edge.
