Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand Launches July 29 on PC

Relic Entertainment has announced Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, a new standalone PC release that turns the tactical RTS series into a faster wave defence experience.

Launching July 29 on Steam, Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand does not require players to own Company of Heroes 3 or any previous entry in the series. Instead, it is being pitched as a separate way to experience the franchise’s battlefield tension, built around solo and cooperative survival.

The setup is simple but intense. Players must dig in, prepare defences, adapt to changing battlefield conditions, and survive 12 escalating waves of enemy forces. For those who want to push beyond that structure, an Endless Mode will also be available.

Relic Adds Roguelite Progression to Company of Heroes

The biggest change is the addition of roguelite progression, as each run in Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand is designed to push players into different tactical decisions, with persistent upgrades and faction-specific progression trees opening new strategic options over time. That should make experimentation a bigger part of the loop than in a standard campaign or skirmish match.

Players will be able to command one of four factions: US Forces, Wehrmacht, British Forces, and Deutsches Afrikakorps. Each faction comes with its own progression path, abilities, and strategic identity, giving solo and co-op players different ways to hold the line.

The mode also includes 36 boss units with special abilities and rewards, alongside 18 dynamic in-game events that can change how each battle unfolds.

Five Battlegrounds and Eight Difficulty Levels Are Included

At launch, Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand will feature five battlegrounds built specifically for wave defence gameplay. Relic also included eight difficulty levels, ranging from newcomer-friendly settings to veteran-level challenges. That gives the standalone release room to work for players new to Company of Heroes, while still offering tougher options for longtime RTS fans.

The full package also includes four premium cosmetic skin packs, one for each faction, along with new announcer voice performances created for the standalone experience.

Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand Gameplay

Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand arrives during the 20th anniversary of the wider Company of Heroes franchise. It also follows Relic’s recent announcement of Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition, making this a busy period for the long-running RTS series.

A 10% launch discount will be available, while existing Company of Heroes 3 owners will receive an additional 20% bundle discount.

For a franchise built on tactical decision-making, pressure, and battlefield momentum, Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand looks like a smart way to reshape those strengths into something more immediate. The question now is whether wave defence and roguelite progression can give Relic’s RTS formula a fresh second front.
