Xbox Games Showcase - Stealth Gameplay & the Boss Emerge in Metal Gear Solid Delta Trailer

For fans of the Metal Gear Solid series or the wider franchise as a whole, it can be quite hard to return to the game as creator Hideo Kojima is no longer at the helm. After all, without his team and the vision, Konami would not have this beloved series in their portfolio. Now that everyone has moved on, though, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake is well worth noticing, especially after the latest showing at the Xbox Games Showcase.

With gameplay being shown off for the first time, we finally get a taste of how Konami is planning to stay true to the original while implementing a whole new coat of paint when it comes to the visuals. The jungles look so pristine and full of opportunities in the trailer, and when things get busy, Snake’s mastery of close-quarters combat never looked that great when compared to the PS2 version.

The almost 1:1 replication of gameplay sequences many have fond memories of will definitely help fans get to terms with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and we are no exception. And to top it all off, we get to see the new model for The Boss, who remains one of gaming’s best characters.

Whether that all moves the needle for fans who are still unhappy with the way Kojima was treated won’t matter to Konami as long as the remake sells, and from what we are seeing, there is every reason to be hyped about a fresh take on one of the series’ best games.

Unfortunately, even with this new trailer drop, we still do not have a release date for the game just yet. Those looking for a stealthy good time can always go back to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 for a hit, but that will likely pale in comparison when Metal Gear Solid Delta arrives.
