Darksiders 4 Release Window Includes the Next Kingdom Come Game
Embracer Group has provided a clearer idea of when players can expect Darksiders 4 and the next game in the Kingdom Come series, with both currently planned for its 2027/28 financial year.
The release window appears in Embracer’s latest first quarter financial update, which places both projects between April 2027 and the end of March 2028. That is still a broad range, but it gives fans the clearest indication yet of when the two games are expected to arrive.
Darksiders 4 is being developed by Gunfire Games and is currently listed for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Embracer also identifies Warhorse Studios as the developer of the next game in its RPG franchise, although platforms have yet to be confirmed.
The Next Game Still Does Not Have a Title
While Embracer has now confirmed a sequel is part of its future pipeline, the project has not been officially announced by name. As reported by VGC, a recent trademark filing for Kingdom Come: Salvation has raised the possibility that this could be the title of the next entry, although that remains unconfirmed.

That follow-up would continue the momentum generated by Deliverance II, while the next Darksiders represents the long-awaited return of another established Embracer franchise. For now, both remain firmly within the 2027/28 window rather than having specific launch dates.
Metro 2039 and Tomb Raider Arrive Earlier
Embracer’s report also sheds more light on two major games arriving sooner. 4A Games’ Metro 2039 is currently scheduled for February 2027, while Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is set for February 12, 2027. Both are expected to play a major role in Embracer’s current financial year.
Metro 2039 also appears to be attracting plenty of attention ahead of launch. Embracer says the game reached one million wishlists faster than any previous title in its history, with wishlists continuing to perform above expectations.
With Darksiders 4 and the next Kingdom Come following in the subsequent financial year, Embracer has several significant releases lined up across the next 18 months. The March 2028 deadline should still be treated as a financial target rather than a firm release commitment, but fans now have a much clearer window for when both games could finally arrive.
