The Jackbox Party Pack 12 Arrives in October After Trivia Murder Party 3
Jackbox Games has confirmed release dates for two upcoming party games, with Trivia Murder Party 3 launching first on September 17 before The Jackbox Party Pack 12 arrives on October 15.
Trivia Murder Party 3 will initially launch through Early Access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A full 1.0 release is then planned for next year across PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5.
Meanwhile, The Jackbox Party Pack 12 launches on October 15 across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Apple TV, iPad and the Mac App Store.
Trivia Murder Party 3 Goes Standalone for the First Time
The biggest change for Trivia Murder Party 3 is that it is no longer tied to a wider Party Pack release. The fan-favourite trivia series is getting its first standalone game, shifting the setting to Camp Mass Acres and leaning into a slasher-themed summer-camp atmosphere.
As before, answering trivia questions correctly is only part of the challenge, with wrong answers sending players into deadly minigames. This time, online multiplayer is being added for the first time, and it also supports solo play alongside the usual local setup.
New mini games and cosmetic accessories are also part of the package, while the broader tone remains firmly rooted in the series’ mix of trivia, absurd humour and sudden death.
The Jackbox Party Pack 12 Includes Five New Games
For players who prefer the full party bundle, The Jackbox Party Pack 12 will include five completely new games. Jackbox has not detailed every mode in full within the release, but the collection will once again cover a mix of trivia, creativity, debate and social deduction-style interactions.
That includes activities centred around making greeting cards, arguing over ridiculous topics and testing how well players understand their friends.
As with previous Jackbox releases, everyone can join using a smartphone as a controller, keeping the setup straightforward for larger groups without requiring multiple gamepads.
Two Jackbox Releases Land Within a Month
The two releases will arrive less than a month apart, giving Jackbox fans two different ways to approach the series.
The standalone move for Trivia Murder Party 3 is arguably the more interesting development, especially with online multiplayer opening the game beyond local party sessions. For everyone else, The Jackbox Party Pack 12 looks set to continue the familiar formula with another five-game collection built around quick, accessible multiplayer.
Trivia Murder Party 3 launches in Early Access on September 17 for PC, while The Jackbox Party Pack 12 follows on October 15 across consoles, PC and Apple platforms.
