Prism+ Solaris Pro XL Smart Laundry Rack

Doing laundry has never exactly had compelling gameplay. You load the washer, hang everything up, then wait for Singapore’s weather RNG to decide whether your clothes will actually dry. The Prism+ Solaris Pro XL doesn’t remove the grind entirely, but after living with it, it feels remarkably like installing a quality-of-life patch for one of the home’s most repetitive chores.

The Solaris Pro XL is the flagship of Prism+‘s automated laundry rack range, stretching from 1.3m to 2.2m and pairing six 9m/s turbine fans with 12 heater elements, voice and app controls, plus UV, ioniser and anti-dust-mite functions. More importantly, most of it translates into things you will actually notice in daily use.

Installation Comes With an Optional Side Quest

Installation itself was straightforward, although the HDB service yard threw up the first optional side quest. The existing power line needed extending to reach the Prism+ Solaris Pro XL, which meant additional cost and some aesthetic consideration around the added cabling.

It is hardly a deal breaker, but it is worth checking your service yard beforehand. The device requires a dedicated power point, and additional work may be necessary depending on the home.

Once installed, the rack feels reassuringly steady. It can swing slightly while clothes are being loaded, but never to a worrying degree. Raising or lowering it is slower than pulling a conventional rack by hand, although speed is not really the upgrade here. The trade is a little extra waiting for considerably less physical effort.

Finding the Right Laundry Loadout

The Prism+ Solaris Pro XL also requires some relearning. Its integrated clips are handy for delicates and smaller pieces, but using them for everything quickly becomes inefficient. After some experimentation, hangers became our preferred loadout for shirts and similar clothing, leaving the clips for lighter items.

That still leaves plenty of flexibility. The rods remain useful for trousers, towels and other items you prefer to hang traditionally, while the extendable sections are particularly helpful for bedsheets. For a larger household load, that flexibility matters more than simply having lots of clips.

The build has held up well through regular use, although it is still a motorised fixture with moving components, so don’t treat it roughly. A little care around the clips and extending rods goes a long way.

Singapore Weather Remains the Final Boss

The drying system is where the Pro XL makes its strongest case. Noise levels from both hot and cool drying are perfectly acceptable, especially when the unit is confined to a service yard away from the main living spaces.

The three-hour cycle is more situational. On a hot day, it works well as an extra buff to natural drying, but it doesn’t consistently leave a full load ready to take down by itself. The six-hour option is the more dependable choice when you actually want laundry dry enough to put away, particularly during wetter stretches.

Prism+ promises full-width airflow coverage and, in practice, it largely delivers. Some player responsibility remains: tightly packed or poorly positioned clothing can interrupt airflow, so how you arrange the load affects the result.

That makes the Prism+ Solaris Pro XL especially useful during Singapore’s monsoon periods. It cannot defeat humidity entirely, but being able to actively push a load towards dryness rather than waiting for better weather is a convenience that quickly becomes difficult to give up.

Smart Features That Stay Out of the Way

Voice control could easily have been gimmicky, yet it is one of the Prism+ Solaris Pro XL’s best features. Commands are responsive, and because processing happens locally, basic voice operation does not depend on an internet connection. Better still, you can disable the spoken feedback. Once it is, asking the rack to move feels less like talking to a gadget and more like operating another fixture in the house.

The three lighting options are useful if you regularly hang laundry at night, although they are hardly a headline attraction. More useful are the LED indicators, which function almost like a HUD and let you understand the rack’s current state at a glance.

The UV, ioniser and anti-dust-mite modes are harder to judge objectively. We tended to use them on wetter days, with bedsheets or items likely to see prolonged use, mostly for added peace of mind. Without laboratory testing, however, we have no meaningful way to quantify their effectiveness.

That is ultimately why the Prism+ Solaris Pro XL works. It does not make laundry exciting, nor does every feature fundamentally change the experience. Instead, it removes small points of friction: less pulling, less dependence on the weather, more hanging flexibility and voice controls that genuinely work. Laundry still has terrible gameplay, but Prism+ has delivered a surprisingly effective quality-of-life update.

The Prism+ Solaris Pro XL Smart Laundry Rack is available now, starting from SG$899.

Summary

The PRISM+ Solaris Pro XL combines flexible hanging, dependable assisted drying and excellent voice controls into a meaningful household upgrade, even if installation considerations and a less useful three-hour drying cycle keep things grounded.
