Marvel Tokon Year 1 DLC Adds Thor, Venom and Jubilee

Sony and Arc System Works have revealed the remaining Year 1 DLC fighters coming to MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, with Thor, Venom and Jubilee joining the previously announced Phoenix Cyclops. The new characters will be rolled out through summer 2027 as part of the game’s Year One Characters & Stage Pass, giving the 4v4 tag fighter a steady stream of additions over its first year.

Phoenix Cyclops starts things off on November 2, followed by Thor, specifically Jane Foster’s incarnation of the character, in winter 2027. Venom arrives in spring 2027 alongside a new Klyntar stage, before Jubilee closes out the currently announced roadmap in summer 2027.

The extended post-launch schedule arrives at an interesting time for fighting games, particularly after Riot confirmed that 2XKO would wind down active development after struggling to reach the monthly player numbers needed to sustain its live-service model. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls now has content mapped out well into next year, although maintaining that audience will ultimately depend on much more than recognisable Marvel characters.

Jane Foster’s Thor Is Next After Phoenix Cyclops

The new Year 1 DLC trailer provides the first look at Jane Foster’s Thor in action, although Arc System Works is still holding back a full breakdown of her moveset. She follows Phoenix Cyclops, whose November 2 arrival brings a combination of Scott Summers’ familiar Optic Blast attacks and the Phoenix Force.

Arc System Works previously explained that it deliberately chose the less conventional Phoenix version to give Cyclops a different fighting style from his numerous previous appearances in Marvel fighting games. His Classic and Legacy costumes will launch alongside him. Venom and Jubilee have meanwhile been previewed through artwork, with further gameplay details still to come.

Venom Brings a New Klyntar Stage in Spring 2027

Venom’s spring release will be accompanied by a Klyntar stage, making his addition slightly more substantial than another fighter joining the roster. Jubilee then follows in summer 2027 to complete the four-character Year 1 line-up. The official Marvel Tokon account has also shown off the newly revealed characters and their designs.

The latest trailer additionally confirms Keiichi Okabe, best known for his work on NieR:Automata, as a guest composer. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launched on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with 20 characters forming its initial roster. Phoenix Cyclops begins its post-launch expansion on November 2, before the remaining Year 1 fighters arrive throughout 2027.
