Enshrouded 1.0 Completes Embervale on PC and PS5
Keen Games’ Enshrouded is finally ready to leave Early Access, with version 1.0 launching on October 15 for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5. The full release arrives after more than two years in Early Access and over 5.5 million players, bringing the current storyline to a conclusion while completing Embervale’s world map with a substantial new endgame biome.
Keen Games also plans to continue supporting the game after 1.0 with both free and paid content, while an Xbox Series X|S version remains scheduled for spring 2027. Version 1.0 will arrive with a 10% launch discount on Steam and PlayStation 5 for its first 14 days.
Cinder’s Cradle Completes the Enshrouded Map
The biggest new area is Cinder’s Cradle, a biome of floating islands that pushes exploration upwards through ancient ruins and areas crossed by flowing lava. It also forms part of the new endgame, alongside additional Hollow Halls, more enemy types and new points of interest added to existing regions. The character level cap rises to 50, while gear can now reach level 55.
Combat is receiving another round of changes too, including nine new Mage spells, an overhaul for magic builds, greater ranged customisation and refinements to animations and the camera. Keen Games has also revisited the opening hours, adjusting pacing, rewards and recipe unlocks to give newcomers a smoother introduction to Embervale.
Sparkworks Lets Players Build Interactive Creations
Version 1.0 is not solely about finishing Keen Games’ existing content. The new Sparkworks system introduces logic tools for creating interactive bases, dungeons and other experiences, with Adventure Sharing intended to let those creations be shared with the wider community.
Building itself retains the game’s detailed voxel system, allowing terrain and structures to be altered block by block. Some smaller quality-of-life additions should make that process easier, including an Airborne Architect mode that lets players fly around their bases while building, alongside auto-loot and improved chest management.
Visual upgrades include improved distant terrain and building detail, reworked lighting and shadows, HDR support and reduced memory usage across different hardware configurations. Lore notes are also receiving voiceovers in English, German and Mandarin Chinese.
Enshrouded Makes Its Console Debut on PS5

October 15 also marks Enshrouded’s first console release. PlayStation 5 players get haptic feedback, adaptive trigger support and multiple graphics and performance options across PS5 and PS5 Pro. Multiplayer supports up to eight players on PS5, compared with 16 on PC.
The Xbox Series X|S edition follows in spring 2027, meaning the launch will complete Enshrouded’s lengthy Early Access chapter without quite completing its platform rollout.
