HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate Reveals Its Wildest Tracks Yet

Wabisabi Games and Acclaim have shown off more of HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate, revealing new riders and slopes that take its arcade snowboarding well beyond the usual snowy mountains.

Debuting during The MIX: Fall Online Showcase, the new gameplay trailer sends riders through shimmering ice caves and, rather less sensibly, across an active volcano. A giant snowboarding kaiju even joins the action at one point.

The game is currently planned for PC and consoles in 2027, although an exact release date has yet to be announced.

Snowboarding Is Only Getting More Ridiculous

Developed by the Mexican studio behind RKGK / Rakugaki, HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate draws heavily on the exaggerated extreme sports games of the late 1990s and early 2000s. That influence goes beyond simple downhill racing.

Challenge mode focuses on objectives, collectibles, tricks and chasing leaderboard scores, while Race asks players to balance speed with style, as landing tricks builds the boost meter. Those who want something less competitive can use Chill mode to explore the tracks and hunt for secrets without a timer breathing down their neck.

The latest footage suggests Wabisabi is also willing to stretch the definition of a snowboard course considerably. Alongside more traditional mountains, the wider game includes locations inspired by Tokyo, Hokkaido, Canada and Mexico, while the new volcanic and ice cave environments push its arcade sensibilities even further.

Local and Online Multiplayer Are Along for the Ride

Multiplayer is another significant part of HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate. The game supports four-player local split-screen, while online sessions can accommodate up to eight players competing across its racing and trick-focused modes.

There’s also plenty to unlock. The game promises 11 riders and 47 boards, each with different styles and stats, plus cosmetic customisation. The project is part of the growing catalogue from the revived Acclaim, which returned last year with a renewed emphasis on independent developers and new games rather than simply trading on its older catalogue

More hands-on time should be coming soon, too. Acclaim says a new demo is coming soon, though it hasn’t announced a date. For now, HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate can be wishlisted through Steam, with further details available through the official Acclaim game page.
