Football Manager 27 Free Launch Preview Begins October 29
Sports Interactive and SEGA are giving prospective managers five days to play Football Manager 27 for free before its full November 10 release.
The FM27 Launch Preview opens on October 29 and remains free until November 3 across Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass. No additional registration is required, and you can access every game mode during the free period.
The free period fills in one of the biggest details left unanswered when Sports Interactive announced Football Manager 27‘s November 10 release date, having only confirmed that a Launch Preview would arrive one to two weeks earlier.
Football Manager 27 Saves Will Carry Straight Into Launch
Players will not have to throw away whatever progress they make during those five days. Any save created during the free Launch Preview can carry into the paid preview period and eventually the full game on November 10. Game Pass subscribers can similarly continue playing through their existing subscriptions.
The pre-purchase window will also open alongside the free period, offering a 10% discount through SEGA-approved digital retailers. Anyone who pre-purchases can continue playing the Launch Preview after free access ends on November 3, effectively bridging the gap until release.
Sports Interactive has renamed what previous entries called Beta or Advanced Access to the Launch Preview, saying it aims to deliver a build closer to the quality and completeness expected at launch. More details are available through the official Football Manager Launch Preview announcement.

FM27 Continues to Refine Navigation and Tactics
The free period will also be the first opportunity for a much wider audience to get hands-on with this year’s changes. Sports Interactive has already detailed an overhauled Football Manager 27 interface designed for smoother navigation and fewer unnecessary clicks, along with improved match-day presentation and a revised match engine.
Tactical Tweaks will allow managers to make smaller adjustments without completely changing a system, while Tactical Effectiveness offers clearer feedback on how well players understand their roles and instructions. Continue Flow customisation also provides more control over how quickly players move through the game’s many screens.
The free Launch Preview may still contain incomplete licensed data, including missing club and player assets, as approval work continues before release.
Football Manager 27 launches November 10 across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and mobile.
