Rog 2025 Gaming Laptops Pack Immense Power & Ai Potential

In the world of gaming laptops, the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand has plenty of cachet in the scene. No matter your needs, the ROG lineup has something that will cater to you and, more importantly, with plenty of power under the hood.

This will be no different in the new year, with ROG unveiling its latest range of laptops at CES 2025. ROG continues to push the envelope with the latest processors from Intel, AMD, and Nvidia, incredible new chassis and cooling designs for the ROG Strix series, and an incredibly powerful new Flow Z13 headlining the showcase.

In addition, updates to the ROG Zephyrus series and a complete redesign of the XG Mobile to include Thunderbolt 5 support underscore the 2025 lineup’s exceptional performance.

Leading CPUs & GPUs for ROG

Across the lineup powered by the GeForce RTX 50 series graphics card, Nvidia’s Blackwell chip also works in tandem to deliver next-level graphics fidelity. At the same time, the additional AI horsepower enables the use of Nvidia DLSS 4, Nvidia Studio and NIM microservices, which are state-of-the-art AI models that let enthusiasts and developers build AI assistants, agents, and workflows with peak performance on NIM-ready systems.

The ROG Strix Refresh

For the ROG Strix lineup for 2025, fans can look forward to bold new chassis designs on the visual front, including full-surround RGB lighting and the first tool-less bottom panel available in a gaming laptop. Packing up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and the likes of NVIDIA DLSS 4 technologies, anyone can enjoy the latest graphics technology like ray tracing with excellent performance.

The Strix Scar 16 and 18 utilise the next-gen Intel Core 9 275HX processor with 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, while the Strix G16 and G18 are powered by the MD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, respectively, together with 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.

Portable Power With the Z13

Rog Flow Z13

With a brand-new and ultra-powerful chiplet processor from AMD, the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395, the ROG Flow Z13 benefits from powerful RDNA 3.5 graphics cores, giving it gaming performance with incredible power efficiency. Dedicated NPU cores also make the Flow Z13 a capable AI PC, with 50 TOPS of total NPU compute power.

The laptop also touts a unified quad-channel memory design, allowing the entire device to share the same pool of up to 128GB of ultra-high-speed LPDDR5X-8000 RAM between the CPU and GPU cores dynamically. A redesigned vapour chamber offers improved cooling efficiency and 54% more coverage of the mainboard as compared to its predecessor.

More Power and Cooling for Zephyrus

Continuing in the same vein, the ROG Zephyrus series is getting new designs that up the portability, without sacrificing power or cooling capabilities. The G14 comes with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and RTX 5080 GPU, together with a Nebula Display OLED panel with 3K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 0.2-millisecond response time, and Nvidia G-Sync support to keep your eyes on the prize.

The G16 has two variants: an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and an RTX 5090 GPU, or up to an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 chip and an RTX 5070 graphics card. Both models retain the Nebula Display OLED tech, 2.5K resolution, a refresh rate of 240Hz, a 0.2-millisecond response time, and support for Nvidia G-Sync.

ROG XG Mobile Returns

Now with Thunderbolt 5 compatibility, the XG Mobile is making a comeback with two models, featuring an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU. With a single Thunderbolt 5 cable, the XG Mobile boasts dual USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, a 5Gbps Ethernet port, a UHS-II MicroSD card reader, and an additional downstream Thunderbolt 5 port.

The new chassis design with an off-black semi-transparent casing allows a glimpse inside the XG Mobile and the premium components within. The chassis is also 25.4% smaller and 18.2% lighter than the previous generation, allowing it to easily sit on a desk or slip inside a bag for travel.

All the relevant details about local availability, configurations, and pricing for the ROG products showcased will be announced at a later date.
