There are key events in the gaming industry each year that demand attention. For fighting game fans, there is nothing more significant than the Evolution Championship Series, or EVO, where the best players get together from around the globe and duke it out for the masses’ entertainment and the glory of being on top. With the year still fresh, EVO 2025 has now confirmed the lineup of eight games for the main stage.
The Sony-backed competition continues to grow, with this year’s contest set to be the biggest one yet. Fans going to Las Vegas to catch the show in the flesh or those online will be able to enjoy the intense competition of seven familiar fighting games, with SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves making its debut this year.
The eight main stage games for EVO 2025 are:
- Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
- Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
- Guilty Gear: Strive
- Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Street Fighter 6
- Tekken 8
- Under Night In-Birth Sys: Celes
The aforementioned Fatal Fury takes the place of King of Fighters 15 following last year’s competition. There will also be a special Tournament of Champions on stage for Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, with plenty of the game’s best players appearing.
EVO 2025 will also be launching the EVO Extended Lineup, with official tournaments and prizes for these games as well:
- BlazBlue: Central Fiction
- Killer Instinct
- The King of Fighters XV
- Rivals of Aether II
- Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O
- Additional games will be added before the event
While the competition is fierce, there will also be opportunities for attendees to check out new games, get excited about new announcements and enjoy demos on the floor. EVO 2025 is scheduled to take place from August 1 to 3, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hill in Las Vegas, Nevada.
