Insomniac Games Still Tight-lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release in 2025

The year 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting and interesting time for PlayStation 5 gamers. Besides the confirmation of console-exclusive titles, such as S-Game’s mesmerizing Phantom Blade Zero, the PS5 will also be welcoming high-profile AAA first-party games like Ghost of Yotei from Sucker Punch and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach from Kojima Productions. Naturally, this raises another big question—will Insomniac GamesMarvel’s Wolverine join the lineup?

First introduced via a short teaser in 2021, before becoming one of the studio’s hardest-hit victims of the ransomware attack in 2023, speculation about a 2025 release for Marvel’s Wolverine remains persistent. Unfortunately, Insomniac has declined to provide any certainty, neither confirming nor denying a 2025 release for this action game.

Speaking with Variety, one of Insomniac Games’ newly promoted co-heads, Chad Dezern, stated that while they have announced Marvel’s Wolverine to the public and are eager to discuss it, they need to hold their tongue much like the character Logan would, and only make a move when everything is lined up correctly.

“We’ve announced ‘Wolverine,’ and we’d love to talk more about Wolverine, but we have to be like Logan today, and remain very stoic until it’s time to pop the claws down the road. As much as we have pent-up excitement, we got to hold on to it. So that’s, that’s about as much as we could say about our upcoming projects today,” said Dezern.

As development continues, hidden from the public eye, Insomniac Games also refrained from commenting on whether there will be any planned changes to Marvel’s Wolverine, be it in terms of gameplay or making tweaks following the leaks. At the very least, we don’t have to worry about the game becoming vaporware, and we can still look forward to eventually popping those claws ourselves.
