Retro Horror Sorry We’re Closed Is Coming to Consoles in March

Sorry We’re Closed

Award-winning indie survival horror game Sorry We’re Closed, developed by the two-person team à la mode games and published by Akapura Games, was released on Steam last November. The game is strongly reminiscent of early horror titles such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, with fixed camera angles and PSX-styled graphics.

Unlike those early games, Sorry We’re Closed experiments with many interesting features, such as a striking neon color scheme mixed with demonic imagery, first-person combat, and a Third-Eye mechanic, in which the player can view things unable to be seen in normal gameplay. The player’s actions have consequences, as they’ll not only be forced to manage their inventory but also navigate through certain dialogue trees that can change the outcome of the narrative.

While Sorry We’re Closed has been PC exclusive since its release, earlier today, it was announced that it will be coming to consoles this March. The arrival of the console ports brings with it a major update, adjusting both mechanics, controls, and in-game environments alike.

The Demon World will be rebalanced, making it much more accessible to players with easier foes and introducing additional difficulties. The control scheme is also being tweaked to accommodate controllers, improve aim assist, improve sensitivity, and add gyroscope support for the PlayStation consoles and Nintendo Switch.

Two new modes are also being introduced. The first is New Game +, which allows players to keep their items and upgrades upon starting a new playthrough. The second is an arcade-style Time Attack mode, in which players can replay levels to see how fast they can beat them while also improving their combat scores.

Sorry We’re Closed will be arriving on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S along with the update on 6 March. It is currently available for PC on Steam for $24.99.
