Peter Parker Remains Integral to Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man Franchise

Yuri Lowenthal, the Voice of Peter Parker, Has Confirmed That the Character Will Remain an Active Part of Marvel’s Spider-man 3.

When it comes to Sony PlayStation’s first-party studios, Insomniac Games remains one of its busiest and most prolific developers. From beloved platformers, third and first-person shooters, to even superhero adventures, the team has garnered a track record that is hard to beat. And it is the latter that has some new developments, with Marvel’s Spider-Man the focus of renewed interest.

This is because, contrary to the ending of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has revealed that Peter Parker will still have a significant role to play, even if Miles Morales has proven to be an outstanding hero in his own right.

“There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone,” Lowenthal said in an interview with The Direct. “He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.”

That will be good news for fans who are still hoping to see the original web-slinger take to the skies of New York City. The ending essentially set up any future sequels with Morales at the heart of things, suggesting that an early retirement was on the cards for Parker. Of course, that requires Insomniac to be working on a new Marvel’s Spider-Man game, but that has not been confirmed just yet.

The lack of story DLC for the second game meant that the loose thread has not been addressed, and will continue to be something for fans to speculate about. With Marvel’s Wolverine still in the works, the focus is very much on Logan for the present. But when the time comes, you can be sure that both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be there to save the day in the Big Apple.
