Monster Hunter Wilds’ First Title Update Summons Mizitsune, Zoh Shia & More

the Major Update for Monster Hunter Wilds Will Be Released in Early April 2025, Featuring a Wealth of Exciting Content, Including the Gathering Hub and New Monsters.

What makes the Monster Hunter series so beloved by its fans? Beyond its consistently solid gameplay concept and a highly positive community that guarantees endless fun, Capcom has always shown a strong commitment to long-term support for the franchise. A steady stream of events featuring new monsters, extra quality-of-life features, and enticing limited-time content has become an inseparable part of this series. The same goes for its latest entry – Monster Hunter Wilds.

After teasing fans for some time, Capcom has finally unveiled the first major content update for Monster Hunter Wilds, set to launch on April 4. As expected, this update will be available for free and is packed with enough content to excite every monster-hunting enthusiast.

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1

Hunters will be able to take on the bubbly leviathan Mizutsune. Starting at Hunter Rank 21, players can unlock the mission to hunt Mizutsune by speaking with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. Arch-tempered Rey Dau will also debut in an Event Quest for players above Hunter Rank 50, offering an increased challenge beyond that of Tempered monster hunts, plus a new Rey Dau Gamma armor set to forge as a reward.

The Hunter Rank 50 mark will also unlock a mission to once again hunt Zoh Shia, after which the fearsome monster will appear during the Wyvern’s Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria for additional hunts and the ability to gather Zoh Shia parts for high-rank hunter and Palico equipment.

One of the most anticipated additions in this update is the introduction of the Grand Hub, a social gathering space for hunters. Here, players can interact with each other, participate in a new minigame called Barrell Bowling to win various items and pendants, and even listen to the Diva’s song featured in the game’s initial trailer, which is presented as a tradition from the land of Suja. For players willing to spend extra, there will also be paid cosmetic DLC available.

For those seeking more challenges, this update for Monster Hunter Wilds introduces Arena Quests and Challenge Quests. In these modes, players must defeat monsters with pre-determined and locked equipment, adding an extra layer of difficulty. For those who prefer the classic four-player hunt format, the Free Challenge Quest mode will be available.A newly implemented leaderboard system will allow players to compete for the fastest completion times and earn enticing rewards.

More content will arrive in future updates, including crossover items from other Capcom franchises, which remain a mystery for now. Capcom has teased a seasonal update that may mark the long-awaited return of Lagiacrus toward the end of the cycle.

Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
