Summer Game Fest – Dismemberment and Body Horror Awaits in ILL

with Its Visuals and Physics Approach Claimed to Be Realistic, Ill is Ready to Send Chills Down Your Spine.

While big-name publishers often dominate the spotlight at major gaming events, Summer Game Fest also provides room for smaller, independent titles to shine. Among the standout announcements was ILL, an upcoming first-person shooter horror game that managed to send chills down the spines of many viewers with just a brief trailer.

ILL, developed by Team Clout Inc., may seem like a fresh new title; however, for those who closely follow indie game development, this is actually a revival of an older project that once sparked scepticism. The game initially launched on Patreon but quickly raised doubts after failing to provide regular updates, leading many to fear it would never materialise.

Now, with its official debut at one of the industry’s biggest stages and the backing of reputable publisher Mundfish, hopes are high that the title will finally see a full commercial release.

Team Clout Inc. describes ILL as a realistic action horror FPS, promising dynamic enemy behaviour and highly detailed physics systems that extend even into the game’s puzzle-solving elements. Designed with survival mechanics at its core, this nightmare trip will require players to carefully manage limited resources in order to overcome grotesque monsters and survive the horrors that lie ahead.

Boasting an unsettling visual presentation and an emphasis on realism, the game is poised to deliver a terrifyingly immersive experience. The game is being supported by a team of industry veterans who previously worked on horror films and games alongside renowned directors, with credits including Longlegs, Until Dawn, It, Azrael, and more. That should make for a fun time.

The trailer also showcases intense combat mechanics, including weapon effects that allow players to sever monster limbs in gruesome and visually satisfying ways.

ILL is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, a specific release date or window has not yet been announced.
