Analysts Predict Nintendo Switch 2 Sales Success Even at Us$400

Following the conceptual and executional failure of the Wii U, what Nintendo has achieved with the Nintendo Switch is nothing short of remarkable. The hybrid console has been a massive success, to the point where Nintendo has now confirmed its next-generation successor in the Nintendo Switch 2. Expected to retain the same hybrid foundation while offering significantly improved performance, the new console is also predicted to come at a higher price.

While Nintendo has yet to disclose any pricing details officially, analysts believe that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be priced at least US$100 higher than its predecessor. This suggests a starting price of US$400, with the possibility of it going even higher if tariff policies, particularly those imposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, worsen in the future.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the consensus comes from several market experts, including Yijia Zhai from UBS, Robin Zhu from Sanford C. Bernstein, and Serkan Toto from Kantan Games. Additionally, Toyo Securities, another market analyst, speculates that the price could go as high as US$599 due to increasing component costs.

Despite the projected price hike compared to the first-generation Switch, all analysts share one common prediction, and that is the Nintendo Switch 2 will sell exceptionally well. Some even believe it could become one of the most successful hardware launches in gaming history. The strong sales are expected to be further fueled by a compelling lineup of launch titles, with speculation that Call of Duty could be among the games coming to the new platform.

For now, Nintendo remains silent on the official release date and pricing details of the Nintendo Switch 2. The only information they have shared so far relates to the design and form factor, which have reportedly undergone several refinements. Fans must wait for further announcements to learn more about what the highly anticipated console will offer.
