Beloved Jrpg Romancing Saga 2 Full Hd Remake Arrives October 24

It is definitely a good time to be a roleplaying fan nowadays, with plenty of new masterpieces being delivered while classic games are also given the proper care and love, so that they can be revitalised for a new generation. To that end, Bandai Namco and Square Enix have announced that Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, the full HD remake of the 1993 classic, will be launching on October 24.

Developed by the team behind the 2020 remake Trials of Mana, this ground-up remake and standalone story will feature modern visuals, reworked strategic gameplay, and various other enhancements that will delight longtime SaGa fans and newcomers alike, and players can look forward to reliving the adventure on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

In Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, players will embark on a multi-generational adventure to protect and expand their empire. After the player’s homeland is attacked by one of the legendary Seven Heroes, a branching story of vengeance and redemption unfolds, where the player must fight to protect everything they hold dear. With the free-form scenario system that the SaGa franchise is known for, the player’s choices will impact the development of the story, including who inherits the imperial throne with each successive generation.

“Around three years ago, we had just completed the development and launch of Trials of Mana, which I worked on as the producer. Just as I was in the process of exploring what title to work on next alongside our development partner xeen Inc., Kawazu-san (SaGa franchise general director, Akitoshi Kawazu) and the SaGa team invited me to join them,” shared producer Shinichi Tatsuke.

“Working on this title made me realize once again how Romancing SaGa 2 is a very unique and captivating game, not only by the standards of the times back then, but of the modern era as well. The imperial succession, Free-Form Scenario system, Glimmers, and the wonderful characters make me believe that this game will absolutely hold its own in today’s day and age. We put our heads together to understand how we can make this title feel intuitive for existing fans and new players alike.”

Featuring both original and rearranged compositions by the legendary Kenji Ito (known for his work on the SaGa franchise, notably SaGa Frontier and the Mana series), Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven offers Japanese and English voiceovers as well. The remake also re-works the battle and character growth systems and adds in numerous new features, such as difficulty selection, making it easily accessible to both long term fans of the series and complete newcomers.

Prepare yourself for an epic tale this October 24, when Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven launches.
