Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Promises Thrilling Spy Action, Coming October 6

After teasing fans of what is to come for the latest entry in the juggernaut Call of Duty franchise, Activision Blizzard, alongside developers Treyarch and Raven Software, finally unveiled the details we needed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 at the Xbox Games Showcase.

Launching on October 26, the shooter is set to deliver “the most breathtaking and spectacular Black Ops action to date,” which comprises the campaign, meaty multiplayer offerings, and the return of more Zombies fun.

Set in the early 1990s, just in the aftermath of the Cold War, players will experience stealth-based gameplay and intense action across the globe, bringing them to locations like Russia, the Middle East, southern Europe, and the United States. Recognisable faces such as Frank Woods and Russell Adler will return, while new ones like Troy Marshall and Jane Harrow, will join in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Gameplay Multiplayer

In the realm of multiplayer, there is something new called Omnimovement to look forward to, which supposedly lets players “move realistically and seamlessly chain movements like a real action hero.” Think sprinting, sliding, and diving in all directions to save your bacon, while the new Supine Prone positioning will allow for rotation while prone. There’s even corner slicing ““where as you round a corner or go through a doorway, your weapon is going to dynamically rotate in the direction that you’re rounding that corner.”

All of that will come in handy on the 16 new maps available at launch. The full list includes 12 6v6 maps, while the four Strike maps can involve matches of 2v2 or 6v6. The return of Classic Prestige also ensures that you will always be progressing towards something. Those seeking more undead slaying action will also be happy, as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 welcomes back the round-based mode. Two new maps will arrive at launch in Liberty Falls and Terminus, so get ready to dive back in to find all the secrets that lie within.
