Channel Your Inner Vr Kung-fu Master in Path of Fury Episode I

We are big fans of Trek to Yomi, the absolutely gorgeous and cinematic samurai action title that was released back in 2022, and we definitely wouldn’t mind more of such outstanding fare. Yet, independent developer Leonard Menchiari has surprised us yet again, with the reveal of Path of Fury: Episode I – Tetsuo’s Tower, an on-rails virtual reality action game.

Working with publisher Abonico Games, Menchiari is taking on the Chinese Kung-Fu movies from the ’80s and games like Time Crisis for this new game. In Path of Fury: Episode I – Tetsuo’s Tower, you’re thrust into a relentless gauntlet, armed with only your fists and raw willpower. Tetsuo’s fortress rises above you, each floor crawling with enemies ready to end you. Your only option? Punch your way through every last one of them.

Precision and speed are everything. Each enemy has a weakness—you’ll have to find it and strike before they swarm. As the floors stack higher, so do the odds. The action doesn’t let up, and neither can you. This is pure, high-stakes combat where every punch counts, and hesitation could be fatal.

It certainly smacks of the likes of Sifu, and it remains to be seen if that tight action of Trek to Yomi can be replicated in first-person and, more importantly, in virtual reality. Nevertheless, players will undoubtedly get a workout whether they succeed in overcoming the gauntlet of enemies or fail miserably.

Path of Fury: Episode I – Tetsuo’s Tower will be released in early 2025 and will support the Meta Quest 2, Pro and 3 devices.
