Warhorse Confirms Kingdom Come Movie as Director Daniel Vávra Steps Away From Games to Lead

Warhorse Studios plans a Kingdom Come: Deliverance movie adaptation, with Daniel Vávra leading the film project after leaving game development.

Kingdom Come Is Officially Getting a Film

Warhorse Studios has confirmed that the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be adapted into a feature film, marking the franchise’s first step beyond video games.

The historical RPG series has built a reputation for grounded realism, dense role-playing systems and player-driven consequences. Following the strong reception of its 2025 sequel, which competed at major industry awards events, the franchise is now preparing to expand into cinema.

Daniel Vávra to Lead the Adaptation

According to an interview with Czech outlet CzechCrunch, Warhorse intends to entrust the film to a familiar creative force: Daniel Vávra.

Vávra, who served as director, writer and designer on the Kingdom Come games, will step away from game development duties to focus fully on the film project. Warhorse stated that the move was Vávra’s own decision, as he seeks new creative challenges after successfully establishing the franchise in the RPG space.
