Playstation September 2024 State of Play Recap

As we head into the last quarter of 2024 and ahead of the coming of a newly refreshed console line, Sony PlayStation definitely needs to get players hyped for the foreseeable future. Cue the latest State of Play presentation, which consisted of plenty of pleasant surprises and more love for the PS VR2.

Here’s what you might have missed during this morning’s presentation:


PlayStation Hardware

More PlayStation consoles are coming your way aside from the recently announced Pro. The new Chroma Collection adds new colour options for both the consoles and the DualSense controllers, with pre-orders starting on October 3.

Ghost of Yotei

A sequel to the brilliant Ghost of Tsushima is what fans have been clamouring for, and Sucker Punch has obliged with the reveal of Ghost of Yotei. Following new protagonist Atsu, it will take place around the lands of Mount Yōtei. The game is set for a 2025 release.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom already knows it has a big hit on its hands, and players will prepare themselves for the hunt when the latest entry in the storied franchise arrives on February 28 2025 as showed at State of Play.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered

One for the older souls, the official announcement of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered would have made many happy, and even more so with a December 10 release. A perfect present for its 25th anniversary.

LEGO Horizon Adventures

Aloy and crew are taking on a new form in LEGO Horizon Adventures, which is now confirmed for a November 14 release on not just PlayStation 5, but also on the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

More machines are on the way, as the leaked Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered was officially revealed at the State of Play presentation, together with a October 31 release date. Expect enhanced visuals and revamped voiceovers if you are jumping back in.

Astro Bot

The amazing platformer that is Astro Bot is getting more content this Fall, with five new speedrun levels and more bots to be saved coming as part of post-launch support. No release date just yet, so hang tight.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Another look at a highly anticipated game, BioWare was on hand to show off more of Dragon Age: The Veilguard as part of the State of Play presentation. With a focus on the Blighted Dragon, the action unfolds this October 31.

Dynasty Warriors Origins

The ultimate power fantasy experience is coming back real soon, as Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have dated Dynasty Warriors Origins for January 17, 2025.

Alan Wake 2

The story of Alan Wake is not over just yet, as Remedy Entertainment is preparing the second DLC, Lake House, for an October release.

Stellar Blade

Shift Up is partnering up with Nier: Automata to bring more DLC to its breakout success title, along with a port for PC.

Lunar Remastered Collection

JRPG fans rejoice, the Lunar Remastered Collection will bring together the classics Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete for a Spring 2025 release, featuring enhanced graphics, audio, and quality-of-life improvements.

Fantasian Neo Dimension

The Apple Arcade masterpiece is finally coming to consoles, arriving on December 5 with its captivating visuals and engaging narrative.

The Midnight Walk

A dark fantasy adventure that will surely send shivers up your spine, The Midnight Walk comes from the makers of Lost in Random, and is scheduled for launch for both PS5 and PS VR2 in Spring 2025.

RPG fans can look forward to this one, as ArchAge Chronicles continue the narrative of the online series with a vast and vibrant world full of danger and opportunities. It arrives on PS5 in 2025.

Palworld

Despite legal proceedings with Nintendo, Palworld is still set to spice things up on PlayStation 5, as it is available now.

Fear the Spotlight
