Forza Horizon 5 Races Across Divide, Coming to Ps5 This Spring

Attention, the racing sim genre for the PlayStation ecosystem has a new challenger, and it is a surprising and welcomed one. The racing mainstay of Xbox, Forza Horizon 5, is heading to the PlayStation 5, marking yet another Xbox exclusive that will be adding Sony’s platform to its list after the likes of Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Playground Games, the developers behind the Forza Horizon series, dropped the news in a surprise announcement, slating Forza Horizon 5 as a spring release for PS5. This new version is being worked on in partnership with Panic Button and Turn 10 Studios, and it won’t be just a barebones release either.

All the content currently available on the Xbox and PC versions of the game will be included, and all previously released Car Packs, as well as the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, will also be available for purchase.

“With nearly 900 cars available in the game, over 40 thematic game updates, two expansions, and so much more content, our team is excited to announce that this spring, PlayStation 5 players will be able to explore Mexico’s beautiful roads and experience the Horizon Festival for the first time as we are officially launching Forza Horizon 5 on PS5,” said the team via a blog post.

There will also be a new free content update coming to all platforms in the future in the form of Horizon Realms. Realms will allow players to explore a curated collection of some of the community’s favourite previously released Evolving Worlds, alongside other surprises.

The coming of Forza Horizon 5 to PS5 echoes the sentiments of Xbox chief Phil Spencer, who recently shared that he no longer sees console exclusivity as the way forward for the brand. The strategy is to be on as many platforms as possible, which is precisely what Forza Horizon 5 is doing with this latest move.
