The Viral Aura Farming Game Is Back & Unleash the Avatar Means Business
From Meme to Momentum
You might not recognise the name Unleash the Avatar, but you’ve almost certainly seen it. Its viral Aura Farming animation — a dramatic Bollywood-style dodge — exploded across social media last year, with fans modding it into everything from Elden Ring to Sekiro. What began as a meme has now evolved into a serious contender in the Souls-like arena.
Indian studio Aeos Games is ready to prove it has more than just style. With the launch of its official website, the team has released a 12-minute gameplay showcase and the results look promising.
A Fresh Look at Mythic Combat
Captured from an early alpha build, the new Unleash the Avatar gameplay trailer highlights stamina-based duels, deliberate dodging, and punishing encounters reminiscent of FromSoftware’s best work. Yet Aeos injects its own creative spin, introducing stealth takedowns, cinematic finishers, and of course, the return of the Aura Farming move, now reimagined as part of protagonist Vikram’s expanded skill set.
The combat strikes a balance between methodical Soulslike precision and Bollywood spectacle, merging two styles that rarely coexist in the genre.
A Journey Through Myth and Memory
Set in a mythic reimagining of India, Unleash the Avatar follows Vikram, a young warrior seeking spiritual enlightenment and redemption. His path takes him across realms shaped by ancient deities and timeless legends — where faith and fantasy collide.
Aeos describes the project as “a fusion of belief and battle,” an approach that aims to bring South Asian mythology to the global gaming stage without compromise or caricature.
Chakrams, Avatars, and Fluid Combat
Beyond the traditional swordplay, Unleash the Avatar introduces a unique twist with chakram-based combat. The throwable weapon doubles as a traversal and puzzle-solving tool, allowing players to trigger mechanisms, strike distant enemies, or teleport short distances with pinpoint precision.
Progression comes through unlocking Avatar forms, each offering elemental powers and combat variations that encourage experimentation and replayability, giving players the freedom to fight their way.
Backed by Veteran Talent
Aeos Games currently comprises around 40 developers, many of whom have worked on major AAA productions including Ghost of Tsushima, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, and NBA 2K. Their collective experience is already visible in the game’s cinematic direction, clean UI, and deliberate combat flow.
For now, Aeos has achieved what few indie studios manage — turning viral fame into a platform for authentic storytelling. If the final release lives up to the promise of this showcase, Unleash the Avatar might just redefine what a Souls-like from India can be.
While no release date has been confirmed, Unleash the Avatar is in active development for PC, with console versions under consideration.
