Titans Come to Feudal Japan in Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ New Crossover
Crossover events are now part of the fabric of modern games, yet genuine surprises still land when the partnership feels completely unexpected.
Ubisoft has delivered one of those moments with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, revealing a collaboration with Attack on Titan that blends the anime’s dramatic intensity with the series’ grounded historical fiction.
The announcement arrived in a brief teaser that instantly evokes the anime/manga’s tone, signalling a bold creative turn for the action RPG.
A Limited-Time Event With a Darker Mystery
Running from November 25 to December 22, the crossover introduces a standalone questline available at no cost to all Assassin’s Creed Shadows players.

The story follows Naoe and Yasuke as they investigate unsettling claims that a secretive cult has found a way to transform its followers into towering giants. The premise is a clear homage to the Titan-shifting mythology, though presented within Shadows’ more grounded interpretation of folklore and superstition.
The quest also introduces a new character named Ada, who guides the protagonists into a vast crystalline cavern used for clandestine experiments. The environment carries echoes of the bleak atmosphere while preserving Assassin’s Creed’s preference for historical motifs and investigative structure.
Rewards and Themed Cosmetics
Players who complete the questline will receive a new katana and additional loot hidden within the caverns. For those who want the full crossover experience, Ubisoft will offer cosmetic packs inspired by the manga/anime in the in-game store.
These include Titan-styled armour for Yasuke, a Mikasa-themed outfit for Naoe, themed weapon skins, and a Survey Corps-inspired mount cosmetic. The items are designed to amplify the crossover’s dramatic flair without compromising the game’s broader visual identity.
Additional Story Content Arrives With “Puzzlement”
To complement the event, Ubisoft will also roll out a separate free story update titled “Puzzlement”. This quest explores the developing dynamic between Naoe and Yasuke as they teach one another core skills, offering a quieter but meaningful counterbalance to the crossover’s high-stakes mystery.
It provides extra narrative weight ahead of launch and gives players more incentive to revisit both characters’ progression paths.
