Now or never: that seems to be the current state of EA’s Battlefield franchise. Following the underwhelming performance of Battlefield 2042, which disappointed both commercially and critically, the company finds itself needing to course-correct. Fortunately, all signs so far suggest that Battlefield 6 may be the redemption arc fans have been waiting for. After unveiling a promising first trailer focused on the long-absent single-player campaign, EA has now delivered on its promise to spotlight the series’ true bread and butter: multiplayer.
A brand-new 2.5-minute trailer, notably set to the high-octane sounds of Limp Bizkit, gives fans their first detailed look at Battlefield 6‘s multiplayer gameplay. As expected, two of the franchise’s signature elements take centre stage: large-scale destruction and all-out warfare.
Thanks to the latest iteration of the Frostbite engine, environmental destruction looks not only more cinematic than ever but also offers tangible strategic advantages on the battlefield. Whether it’s blowing holes in walls for new flanking routes or collapsing buildings to deny enemy cover, destruction is once again a tactical tool.
The second highlight is the return of Battlefield’s massive combined arms warfare. Infantry battles are seamlessly integrated with vehicle combat, featuring tanks and fighter jets that can dramatically shift the tide of conflict in real time.
EA and Battlefield Studios also introduced a brand-new feature called the Kinesthetic Combat System. This new mechanic is designed to enhance gunplay and movement fluidity. Players can now drag downed teammates to safety before reviving them, and deploy wall-mounted weapon supports to help control recoil during sustained firefights.
Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Features
Listening to community feedback, Battlefield 6 brings back the traditional class system abandoned in 2042. Players will once again choose from the classic roles — Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer — each with their unique gadgets, weapons, and specialised training paths.

In terms of content, EA appears committed to providing a robust multiplayer experience. While the rumoured battle royale mode remains unconfirmed, Battlefield 6 will feature a suite of returning fan-favourite modes, including Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, and King of the Hill. A brand-new mode called Escalation will also debut, where two teams battle over key strategic points in a high-stakes showdown.
EA has confirmed two open beta periods for players eager to experience the multiplayer action early: August 9–10 and August 14–17, 2025. The full game is slated for release on October 10.
