Bloodless Relaunches on PC with New Roguelike Content

Shoreline Games and developer Point N’ Sheep have relaunched the non-violent Soulslike Bloodless on Steam for PC and Mac, adding major new content aimed at both returning players and newcomers. The update introduces two roguelike modes and a new epilogue that expands the story of ronin Tomoe, a warrior trying to end a cycle of violence without returning to the bloodshed that once defined her.

Bloodless earned attention in 2024 for its non-lethal combat loop, built around a signature dash counter move and ki-based techniques that let players disable and subdue enemies instead of killing them. The relaunch keeps that core identity, but adds a new structure for players who want a faster, repeatable challenge alongside the main adventure.

Namazu’s Wrath Adds Fast Roguelike Runs Built on Mastery

The headline addition is a new roguelike mode called Namazu’s Wrath, designed as a separate experience that can be played before or after the main story.

It drops Tomoe into a surreal island scenario on her journey back to Bakugawa, where she is forced to confront a corrupted version of her former self, The Slasher, guided by the gods Namazu and Baku.

In practical terms, Namazu’s Wrath is meant to condense Bloodless into fast runs that still demand precision. The mode includes scaling difficulty for players chasing mastery, six new equippable power-ups to keep runs from feeling identical, and additional techniques and passive abilities that widen Tomoe’s moveset.

The goal is to push the same non-lethal combat philosophy into a roguelike format where consistency matters, mistakes stack quickly, and every run becomes a fresh test of timing and decision-making.

Expanded Storytelling Focuses on Guilt and Atonement

Alongside the roguelike additions, the relaunch includes a new epilogue that digs deeper into Tomoe’s past and the consequences she carries into her homecoming. Bloodless sets its central conflict around a return to Bakugawa, now ruled by Shogun Akechi, with Tomoe branded by rumours of prior atrocities and treated as both traitor and threat. Even those closest to her have been drawn into the regime, forcing the story to focus as much on redemption and legacy as on combat.

Bloodless Gameplay

The non-violent premise works best when the narrative gives it weight, and the new story content is positioned as a clearer look at why Tomoe is trying to fight differently, even when the world around her refuses to give her that grace.

The relaunch makes the game easier to recommend as a complete package. New players get the full story plus additional modes, while returning players have a reason to come back even if they have already finished the main campaign. Roguelike runs provide a repeatable space to explore the combat system, experiment with builds, and chase improvement without replaying the full narrative every time.

Bloodless is available now on Steam for Windows PC and Mac.
