Naming conventions in video game franchises have often been unpredictable, with developers and publishers choosing titles that best represent their vision. While some series like Kingdom Hearts have embraced erratic numbering, many long-running franchises have shifted away from numeric titles in favour of subtitles that better reflect their themes. Fortunately for fans of first-person shooters, Battlefield won’t be following that trend. EA and DICE‘s next instalment in the iconic series will officially carry the name Battlefield 6.
Although the game’s existence has been confirmed for quite some time, EA and DICE had not publicly disclosed its official title. And the confirmation came not through a formal announcement, but rather through an error by a content creator.
Influencer Doom49 inadvertently revealed the game’s title by posting an image of a Battlefield 6 media kit on social media. The image, which showed a promotional case labelled with mode names such as Conquest, Rush, and Breakthrough, clearly displayed the Battlefield 6 branding and its new logo. Although Doom49 attempted to delete the post, it was too late as the internet had already taken notice, and the leak effectively confirmed the game’s name.

More to Come for Battlefield 6
The unintentional leak has since been supported by well-known industry insider Tom Henderson, who claimed that EA plans to host a major reveal event for Battlefield 6 next week.
Set to rival the scale of Call of Duty Next, the event is reportedly scheduled to run from July 29 to 31, and will feature hands-on gameplay sessions for select content creators and media outlets. On the final day, EA is expected to officially unveil gameplay footage, developer interviews, and key details about the game’s features and direction.
As of now, neither EA nor DICE has made any public statements regarding the leak or the mounting speculation. However, with the reveal event just around the corner, fans likely won’t have to wait much longer for concrete information about the highly anticipated Battlefield 6.
