Time-Travelling Horror Lands in Cronos The New Dawn This September

Bloober Team has firmly cemented its place as one of the most prominent developers in the survival horror genre. While the studio’s past efforts may have been marked by varying levels of consistency, its standout moments, most recently Silent Hill 2 Remake, have proven it is capable of delivering atmospheric and psychologically complex experiences. While the team works with Konami on the Silent Hill 1 Remake, it is also hard at work on a brand-new original IP: Cronos: The New Dawn.

While details have been shared periodically since its reveal, including a merging mechanic that can see monsters fuse to become even more disgusting beings, the latest trailer dives into the story in the game. More importantly, we now know when Cronos: The New Dawn will launch: September 5.

Rather than being a lone survivor, players take on the role of a protagonist known only as The Traveler, a member of a larger group that appears to possess the ability to traverse time, and in this case, heading back to a past version of Poland. This historical dimension adds a rich and haunting layer to the narrative.

What to Expect in Cronos: A New Dawn

As a Traveler, your mission is to harvest and collect souls from the past to bring to the future. The more souls you accumulate, the stronger and more capable you become. However, this power comes at a cost. The weight of these collected lives slowly takes a mental toll, threatening to unravel your sanity. This psychological degradation isn’t merely a story beat — it manifests in gameplay through visual glitches and disturbing audio hallucinations, reinforcing the game’s horror roots.

With a compelling blend of time travel, psychological horror, and tactical gameplay mechanics, Cronos: The New Dawn is shaping up to be a bold new entry in Bloober Team’s growing horror legacy.

Cronos: The New Dawn will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players who opt for the Deluxe Edition will receive 48-hour early access, allowing them to experience this eerie new world ahead of the official release.
