A Tactical Horror RPG Arrives
Demonschool, the highly anticipated school life tactics RPG from Necrosoft Games and Ysbryd Games, is officially out. Inspired by the offbeat energy of Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, combined with the vivid style of Italian giallo cinema, the game offers a blend of tactical strategy, campus life exploration, and stylish supernatural storytelling.
Players can jump into the action on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
A Freshman With a Demon Hunting Legacy
Players step into the shoes of Faye, a college freshman who also happens to be the last surviving heir of a storied demon-hunting lineage. Her arrival on campus coincides with a looming demonic prophecy, forcing her to balance classes, friendships, and investigations while facing a growing threat from beyond the veil.

The game’s structure mixes supernatural casework with grid-based tactical encounters, taking Faye and her allies through boss battles, social moments, and campus diversions that include karaoke nights and training sessions.
Build Bonds and Master Team-Based Combat
Demonschool features a cast of fifteen playable characters, each with unique skills and personalities. Strengthening bonds between teammates unlocks combo attacks, joint abilities, and more powerful tactical options.
The combat system divides encounters into a Planning phase and an Action phase. Players map out movements, position allies, and prepare abilities before watching all actions unfold simultaneously. The game allows unlimited rewinds in the planning stage, encouraging experimentation until the perfect turn emerges.

Across investigations and battles, players can pursue thirteen different endings, each shaped by the choices made throughout the semester.
A Blend of Pixel Art and Horror Atmosphere
The presentation of Demonschool mixes 2D pixel art characters with 3D environments, creating a stylised hybrid look that emphasises its horror influences. From psychedelic colours to manga-inspired shadow work, the game’s visuals reinforce its eerie tone and unsettling atmosphere.
Creative Director Brandon Sheffield described the project as the studio’s most ambitious to date, noting that the team invested years in refining its story, characters, and tactical depth.
Demonschool launches with language support for English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese, and is available on all PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
