Dimensional Double Shift Introduces First Solo Mode as Winter Update Goes Live

Owlchemy Launches Solo Practice and Boosters in Major December Update

Solo Practice Brings First Single-Player Experience to Double Shift

Owlchemy Labs has rolled out its most significant Dimensional Double Shift update to date, led by the introduction of Solo Practice, the game’s first dedicated single-player mode.

Announced alongside the studio’s winter update and Galaxy XR launch, Solo Practice gives players a way to learn and experiment without the usual chaos of multiplayer shifts. The update is now available to all players.

Solo Practice is positioned as Dimensional Double Shift’s first significant expansion of gameplay modes. It allows new hires to train inside a simplified diner shift at their own pace, while veteran employees can use the mode to refine skills or stress-test interactions.

The mode supports full hand tracking, letting players practice grabbing, tossing, cooking, and tinkering with fewer distractions. ALICE also returns with a lighter version of her performance reviews, monitoring players gently and without the usual consequences.

Owlchemy emphasises that Solo Practice is still experimental. The mode is designed as a live test environment shaped directly by player feedback. The studio encourages players to share impressions as it refines future solo features and training tools.

Weekend Boosters Add More Chaotic Modifiers for Multiplayer

Alongside Solo Practice, the update introduces four rotating weekend Boosters, each adding unpredictable modifiers to diner and garage shifts. These limited-time effects are designed to push teamwork into new, occasionally disastrous, directions. Every weekend during the event, one of the following Boosters will activate:

Midas Touch: Every object touched turns to gold, dramatically altering weight and workflow.
Spittin Fire: Spoken words literally ignite flames, transforming communication into a hazard.
Stretch Arm Long: Extended reach allows for long-distance interactions and far easier coworker annoyance.
Unicorn Horn: A glitter-blasting head attachment that celebrates success while probably breaching every workplace guideline. December 11 Major Winter Update…

These Boosters provide returning players with new ways to create mildly controlled chaos and give long-time crews fresh reasons to revisit shifts in Dimensional Double Shift.

Snow-vertime Fest Brings Seasonal Decorations and Cosmetics

The update also sets the stage for Snow-vertime Fest, a returning winter event running from December 18 to January 5. During the event, the hub transforms into a festive environment with snow piles, seasonal decorations, and new character interactions.

The update includes holiday cosmetics such as winter rings, a seasonal hat, and gloves designed to let employees display their holiday spirit while clocked in.

Owlchemy notes that Snow-vertime Fest focuses on boosting both morale and productivity, with ALICE and seasonal guest characters participating in limited-time scenes across the hub.

Dimensional Double Shift Launches on Samsung Galaxy XR

To round out the announcement, Owlchemy confirmed that Dimensional Double Shift is now available on Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset, joining its existing availability on Meta Quest. The game supports full cross-play, allowing Galaxy XR users to work shifts with players across all versions. The launch reflects Owlchemy’s continued push for accessible XR experiences across multiple hardware ecosystems. December 11 Major Winter Update…

With Solo Practice, rotating Boosters, Snow-vertime Fest, and Galaxy XR support now live, Dimensional Double Shift enters one of its most active periods yet. Owlchemy has hinted that Solo Practice is only the beginning of broader experimentation with new modes.
