Dragonkin: The Banished Launches Version 1.0 on March 19, 2026
NACON and Eko Software have confirmed that Dragonkin: The Banished will officially leave Early Access and launch in full as version 1.0 on March 19 for PC and consoles.
Console pre-orders are now live, marking the first time players outside of Steam Early Access can secure the action RPG ahead of its complete release. The upcoming version represents a significant expansion over its current build, shaped heavily by community feedback gathered throughout its Early Access period.
Four Chapters and Expanded Biomes Await
While Early Access players have already been able to explore the opening chapter, version 1.0 of Dragonkin: The Banished will introduce a far broader campaign experience. The full release will include four chapters, multiple biomes and a wider range of enemy types designed to deepen the challenge.
Eko Software has also implemented improvements based on player discussions, including the addition of a new character and new combat zones. For fans of loot-driven, theorycraft-heavy RPGs, the final version aims to deliver a more complete and refined experience that extends well beyond the initial campaign.
Alongside the main story, players can expect expanded endgame content focused on high-difficulty encounters and build experimentation.
Dragon Companions and Ancestral Grid Progression
At its core, Dragonkin: The Banished centres on dragon hunters attempting to free humanity from invading draconic forces. Players can choose from multiple heroes, each accompanied by a dragonling companion that provides both passive bonuses and active combat abilities.
One of the defining systems is the Ancestral Grid, a progression mechanic that allows players to slot and rearrange skill fragments to create unique synergies. The system functions like a puzzle, encouraging experimentation and optimisation rather than simple linear upgrades.

Supporting this loop is the City of Montescail, a central hub where players can manage builds, access services, and prepare for increasingly demanding battles.
Dragonkin: The Banished is currently available in Early Access on Steam, with the full 1.0 release arriving March 19 on PC and consoles.
